Yup. That headline says it all. Kinect pre-orders at Amazon
for $150, with a November 4th release date. This is the same set of stats we saw earlier this week from Gamestop, when we were all hoping, "Well, maybe it's just a place-holder price...", but it's looking more like the norm.
Not only that, but Kinect Games
are pre-ordering as well. AT A $60 PRICE POINT! What the...remember Nick...family site...family site...
That's right, Kinect exclusive titles like Your Shape Fitness, Kinectimals, and Kinect Joy Ride and the rest are pre-ordering for the same price as your Maddens and Mass Effects. Chew on that: Joy Ride, the XBLA game that everyone panned for probably not being worth ten-bucks at E3 last year, is now 60 bones, American.
I thought, Microsoft, your strategy was to inject new life into the 360, not sell us a brand new console. Because $210 for an accessory and a game is console prices, not "addition" prices. A Wii comes with a controller, two accessories, and two games for only $200. Heck, for less than the $150 the Kinect costs, I can buy a brand new Playstation 2, and a whole
slew of Eye Toy games.
Hopefully some bundles are on the horizon, to be announced close to release date, or I predict Kinect being a big holiday season disappointment...
